This 45.91g nugget has a purity of 92%. It is from the North Murchison/Southern Pilbara and it is about as remote as it gets. It was found by full time prospectors living in the remote outback at their mining operation. Their mine site consists of a scrape and operation and a decent sized wash plant, not something that is easy to do in the outback. Not only do you have to find a water source deep below the red soil that you can well down to, you have to pass through a lot of red tape to get the license granted to access that water. Probably the biggest hurdle of mining in the outback though is just how incredibly remote it is, you are a very long way from help. If something breaks down out in the outback whether that be human or machine you need to have resilience to make it work. There is no such thing as a quick trip into town when the closest town is a tiny outback community and it's a 10 hour round trip away. Rough-edged and full of character, the texture is like coral - jagged but balanced, with natural hollows and bumps. This sized nugget is becoming a lot harder to find and we would definitely consider this a bonus nugget amongst the sea of small ones!
