Serial Number of 5182 Matching Throughout. This a very nice example of a pre-war Mauser rifle, these were produced prior to WWII under contract for the country of Chile. The top of the receiver has the Chilean "Crossed-Rifles" Crest, marked "CHILE" at the top and "ORDEN Y PATRIA" at the bottom and "MODELO 1935" below that and the rear receiver ring is marked with the "Mauser Banner" logo. The right side of the receiver is marked with the pre-war commercial proofs of a "Crown B, U, G and N" proofs. The receiver side wall is marked "MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A/N" and the left side of the receiver ring is marked with a five pointed star followed by "Serie C. Ch. No 5182". Shrouded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 1,400 meters. It has a walnut stock and long handguard that extends to the receiver ring, the left side of the stock has the large "Chilean Crest/ 1935/CaE" circular proof. It has both the bottom and side mounted factory sling swivels, milled components with blue parts with bright polished bolt assembly and is complete with an original leather sling and cleaning rod.
